I'm sure you had an RSV infection. Almost everyone has at one point or another in childhood (and because there is no long term immunity repeat infections are par for the course) Good on you to donate blood. I donate from time to time. My blood is also stored in a repository in NY to see if I come up as a match for a transplant. I was called in as a partial match one time but ultimately wasn't asked to donate marrow
