All good points as usual. But this might also be partly true of me but basically because up to before the last 7 years or so, I took democracy for granted.
If you told me in 2014 what could happened now, I would have told you you were nuts. I wouldn't think it could happen like that.
But it did and I don't take anything for granted. Probably why I am a realist and tend to be more pessimistic about outcomes than I should be. I've always been a realist, but not always so downer and pessimistic, almost defeatist. This shit has changed me.

Almost all the states have constitutions that allow them to have power over their election processes within reason which also include the 3rd section type rulings. So perhaps the scrotus can't just arbitrarily take away states rights for their own elections. Stripping states of their election control is exactly what the gop maga party has been trying to do for generations. A corrupt congress wants to have full control of elections and electoral maps and such.
I predict if dems get control of everything, we may see a real fight to abolish electoral college completely. The concept and no limits on donations has created a predictable corrupt single party government environment.
