I usually try to stay out of this one. I'm not an expert, but I can say this... On the subject of the human sexual experience (if that's the word I'm looking for), I don't have a problem with people wanting to be what they are; I posted last week that the Talmud recognizes 6 or possibly 8 genders along a spectrum of human sexuality, so this is not a modern invention. The number's debatable. (They count eunuchs which is clearly man-made thing) But this shouldn't be an argument. Lia Thomas should be ashamed of itself. Period. Full stop. So should the morons who thought that allowing (him/her) to compete. I'd leave it to an actual sports doctor to say whether prepubescent boys can compete fairly with girls, but Lia Thomas has a fully developed adult male body. You may as well allow competitors to take steroids and male hormone shots. There would be no difference.

Some points.
Caitlyn Jenner (as an Olympic gold medalist) couldn't win in a woman's golf tournament.
Bruce Jenner was not a golfer. Have any of his competitive records been bested by women athletes?
Has she seen some of the heterosexual women's softball players?
Well, hetero may be case by case there. But that doesn't really hold up. Have you seen the men? I mean, I couldn't compete in the women's hammer throw or shot put, but there's a reason that men and women don't compete against each other in those events.

As far as girls holding the edge in the spelling bee? I know you're joking.
* 97 isn't a large enough sample to draw any conclusions and even then, it's close.
* The contestants are drawn from a niche pool. How many, much smarter kids never compete in that arena? And are they male, or female, or somewhere in between? Sports is far more universal and the sample sizes are enormous
* And lastly, rote learning shows us only one facet of human intelligence.
