We shouldn't be afraid of rumors, since if they are proven to be unsubstantiated it would only strengthen the validity of the company's PRs. On the other hand, if the rumors prove to be true, then to delete rumors because they run contrary to our own long hopes is a mistake that would only tarnish the reputation of the deleter.

Unsubstantiated flimsy rumor will not convince any thoughtful investor to stay away from the stock. Those who buy on the whims of unsubstantiated rumor will not be here for long and are not of concern.

Either way, the rumors don't hurt anyone imo except those who spread them, those who blindly believe them, and those who arrogantly try to squash them.
