We don't need him. He dumped into DR Horton and two other large domestic homebuilders in Q2 2023. That's an obvious enough play on the future privatization of FnF needed to sustain a strong and high velocity home builders market with lenders originating mortgages for the middle class homes those builders Buffett dumped into construct as well as the biggest need for a homebuilding boom that we haven't seen since the end of 2006 ... Privatized FnF buying the mortgages off the lenders for cash they make from selling the packaged MBS they make and thus keeping the banks capitalized, profitable, and able to lend. The one difference from 2008 and 2024 imo - the biggest, is that we purposely have a GSE duopoly that has increased it's amount of mortgages it buys off lenders from 30% of mortgages to 70%! And we all love that ;)
