We have read in many places how Jews and Palestinians have lived together happily. It's likely just my dislike for generalizations, but in that first sentence it would have been good to see a qualification like 'For too many Jews...and too many Palestinians.' Raja Khouri and Jeffrey Wilkinson themselves hopefully fit that point in. They would have had only to make it once, early.
"For Jews, Israel must exist; for Palestinians, the historic injustice being committed since 1948 must be reversed. Neither wants to know why the Other cannot budge on these issues. The wall is up. [...] This book examines the role that propaganda and disinformation play in cementing trauma-induced fears for the purpose of making the task of humanizing and acknowledging the Other not just difficult, but almost inconceivable."
Disinformation is going to be a real, even worse problem in future. Thank goodness the effort to protect against it is as vigorous as the effort to increase it.
Looks like the book has to be one many would benefit by reading.
Noted Netanyahu's barbarity is boosting Hamas's popularity in the West Bank. Understandably, of course. His stated aim of wiping out Hamas was ill-thought out from the start.
