This is America we have usually been well regarded, especially after our intervention in World War II. But then came Korea and Vietnam, and that Iraq War and our image has been tarnished somewhat. But I glossed over so many things with that statement that I could be open to retribution from many.

On a side not I grew up with stories from my parents, that we had English on my father's side, and German on my mother's side. Then I took that "spit," test to find out my actual heritage. My father went to his grave thinking he was 100 English, back in his Father's Day, and his Grandfather's Day, Irish descent was scary.

It turns out that I have most English on my side, but there is some Irish, and of course German. But then I still have my Great Grandfather's actual Certificate of Citizenship, it is dated February 1, 1881, and it is beautiful to look at, framed and hangs in my office. I even have a New York Times newspaper clipping taken from the internet that shows his arrival, and the ship he was on, and from where i came from.

The internet is great, but in any research, you must always check your sources, and know what you are reading, there is a lot of bullshit out there. .

For years Israel has treated Palestinians terribly. They have tolerated kicking Palestinians out of their homes in the West Bank and imprisoned them in Gaza with little hope for the future. The neighboring countries are little comfort for the Palestinians as well as they have not helped improve their lot. Generations of Palestinians have grown up hating Israelis. Now Hamas comes along and takes over the ineffective government in Gaza around 2006. No elections since then and both the Israeli government and Hamas don't want a two state solution. Iran is supporting Hamas while we support the only democracy in the ME Israel. This is not going to end well for Israel or the Palestinians. Netanyahu will not stop because he wants this to continue because he knows if this stops he's out and probably faces jail time for bribes and a colossal failure in intelligence that apparently Israel knew about for a year. Now add 1000's of years of religious warfare and hatred of the other and killing of civilians who are penned into a small area with little food and water and people's sensibilities of watching this slaughter play out on social media and TV naturally cause people to want it all to just stop. Yet I look back at what we did in Iraq and killed far more civilians and not nearly the outrage that this has caused. Could it be because ours was not a religious conflict or is antisemitism or antimuslimism rearing it's ugly head. I have no answers but like most I want it to stop because in the long run it will be a strategic blunder for Israel to continue dropping bombs on civilians.
