I barely drive 300-400 miles a week, which works out to about 15 gallons a week in gasoline, and my Acura TL uses Premium gas. Again, that works out to $ 60.00 for gasoline. Now average that out over seven days and you are talking about $ 8.50 per day in fuel costs.
Look at what I did, all of my errands which entail shopping for food and supplies, seeing a few friends, and probably taking Mary out of lunch one day. Just my lunch bill could be more than 1/2 of my weekly fuel costs. Even worse I drive a car that uses premium gas and only gets 23 miles to the gallon. But I have had it for 12 years, and it has less than 89,000 miles on it. If I want to go someplace, I go to the airport, which is less then 10 miles away and fly anywhere and rent a car.
You are supposed to be an American, even hap, but it appears all he wants to do whine about everything. I know he would not last long with my wife, she would tell him to shut the fuck up and get it done. Who has time in America to slow down the lifestyle they have created for themselves?
Compared to just a few decades ago, or long before these smart phones it might have taken longer to run around and get things done, but again my phone lets me get more done from the comfort of my chair.
