I am fine. I have a safe room in my apartment. I have a red alert on my phone that notifies me when missiles are launched. Also there is a siren. If Jerusalem is affected I go to my safe room when home. There are instructions when away. Since Jerusalem is not affected so far very often you only need to stay in safe room for about 10 minutes - until missile lands. For communities near the Gaza strip everything is much different.
Yesterday there were 2 alerts for Jerusalem. On the first I heard the missile while walking the dogs. The second one I went into my safe room. The missile landed south of Jerusalem and there were injuries including a child.
As of now there are 900-1000 + people dead. Most of them civilians. There was a music festival were approximately 260 people were murdered on Saturday. There are approximately 3000 people injured some in critical condition. Over 1500 Hamas members infiltrated Israeli territory from Gaza. One community near Gaza almost 10% of the population was murdered. Some of the smaller communities the residents have been evacuated. Terrorists have also infiltrated from Lebanon but most if not all eliminated. There are over 100 hostages now in Gaza including women, children and babies. In some instances the entire family was murdered. Hamas is threatening to execute them if their demands aren't met. Iran planned this tragedy. I am not commenting on the US giving billions of dollars to Iran under the Obama and Biden administrations.
All Israelis were forcibly removed from Gaza in 2005 and the land given to the PA. In 2007 Hamas won and overthrowed the PA and has controlled Gaza since.
Reserves have been called up for active duty. Blood drives are taking place. People are volunteering in so many ways. People are buying supplies for the military and evacuated residents. People didn't have time to pack. Many organizations are fund raising. People are coming to Israeli to help.
I am saddened and angry that this is happening. I feel for all the families affected. Many don't know if family or friends are alive or held hostage. Funerals are taking place. Many hospitalized. While writing this there have been numerous missiles launched from Gaza.
In spite of this I am so thankful to be living here in Israel and in Jerusalem. We must defeat Hamas and all other terrorists groups and Iran who is sponsoring them. They want to wipe Israel off the map.

I know her mind very well. She is being practical because Israel will need tremendous help from the US. But you can be certain she is seething over this.
