The repulsecans know all this. I believe the infighting is just part of the chess game to go to the wire on purpose with the sole intent to force the dems to compromise on things they do not want to do.
This has become the gop's way. They know they can't work together to pass anything they want, the dems won't pass their bullshit, so they force a shutdown and will just sit there turning blue until the dems break and give them something, anything they can claim was a victory.
