I can only point to what Hugo Chavez did to Venezuela as a recent example of Socialism faithfully practiced. I would have to agree with your last point however. U.S. politicians have bankrupt the nation directing huge sums of borrowed money to their corporate interests and the citizens just do not know how bad it is.....yet.
...extremely profitable corporations financing the puppets some call politicians in USA.
