New public posts to me aren't showing in my mailbox, unless I go to my mailbox. Then they appear, and so does the notification of a new message or messages.

Shelly, Just got two notifications of incoming mail, went to Mail and no new messages private or public. Clicked
refresh on my mail and got four more notifications you've got 99+..... yet still no new messages in ..
Could this be happening tell me i should delete more from my mail, maybe or what...

Would it stop if i emptied my mail, i do attempt to delete as many as seems ok at any time.

Or is it more likely something in my settings, not been there for years. Or a glitch you guys might fix.
