"But up to this point KBLB has failed at proving they can mass produce quality consistent fiber on a mass scale cost efficiently."
i believe they can mass produce at prodigy...cost effectively...but kim has decided that 40 tons per year is not enough...thus he moved over to GSS who has the capacity to produce 300 tons per year...
that required that prodigy be turned into an egg farm...the problem is, prodigy is a controlled environment and GSS is not...getting the worms to perform optimally in an uncontrolled environment is requiring more work...
i believe that we can mass produce at GSS cost effectively, but not optimally...too much loss and less product than desired means less profit....and kim wants as much profit as possible...he does not want to move forward with anything until he has a smooth running operation performing at peak capacity...consistently...
i would much rather he had begun producing product while still working on commercial production...and i think he is...but it isnt going to spydasilk...its going to medical and other uses....
this is what i hope may be part of the revelation he alluded to revealing in the sh letter...
"Do that and it won't matter what anyone has to say about your company. Without it it's just hopes and dreams."
i dont see it as hopes and dreams...i see it as simply a matter of time...
Just since the beginning of 2023, the hopes and dreams have moved closer to reality. Progress confirmed by the moving goal posts from simoly doubting production to now doubting mass production. I guess the "believe it when I see it" viewpoint requires constant movement of the goal posts while recognizing the progress towards "seeing." Whatever works. Most notice the recognition of the same progress the company has constantly reported. Being blind to one's own moving of the goal posts doesn't change the revealing of their progress confirmation. Not sure if there's a term for being able to see but not allowing one's self to see? For simplicity's sake, I'll just call it denial.
