Yes the most prevalent serotypes in pediatric populations may be different than adults. I’m just surprised at the 85 percent and wondering if that will change over time as these vaccines select for non covered serotypes
I recall a presentation (I think I posted here on it) where the 24 valent up and coming vaccines add something like 10 percent coverage to prevnar 20 and even less to infants and I think had considerably less than 85 percent coverage. The 30 plus that are in preclinical cross the 90 percent mark for both adults and peds and I have a feeling that will probably mark the end of the valency wars bc at that point you really have diminishing returns.
