One option would be to develop a single medication combining caspofungin and brilacidin so that they acted together,” said Gustavo Henrique Goldman

"Dr. Goldman, a co-author of the Nature Communications paper, has now agreed to join the Company as a Scientific Advisor, helping guide the study of Brilacidin in the area of mycology and fungal diseases. He is an expert in fungal genetics and antifungal resistance and his laboratory at USP focuses on the molecular biology of human fungal pathogens. Among his scientific achievements, Dr. Goldman has authored over 300 publications, is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, and a fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology and European Confederation of Medical Mycology."

“The researchers are now looking for a Brazilian company interested in licensing the drug, conducting clinical trials, and marketing”

Such a clinical study would involve at least four arms- each drug alone, the combination and placebo.

And before that you would need dose ranging studies to determine the optimum combination regimen.

It would need thousands of patients and tens, if not hundreds of millions of dollars.

And from previous experience with brilacidin it would doubtless cause excess toxicity.

In short, it will never happen.

On the other hand, we can be sure that Leo Ehrlich will be paid in excess of $600,000 yet again this year.

I wonder if that’s the source of reward for the pimps who regurgitate Leo’s propaganda on social media, or if they are paid from a different account from within IPIX?
