Hmm, I see a significant difference or maybe it's just the terminology. Social media isn't really a place that you can have "taste testers" per se. And I guess that's kind of what I associate with a pilot study.
My point is that generally when we introduce something new to the site we try to do it when there will be the least disruptions to the majority of Users. For example, we try not to introduce changes to trading products during the trading day. Then if things go wrong in unexpected ways or whatever, we can reassess and nimbly make fixes or adjustments.
In this specific kind of scenario, in a slower week volume wise, we may have for example, quickly realized that we hadn't done a good job of communicating these changes to board Mods. In that case we would've quickly scrambled to rectify that.
I don't know, that's the differences I see. They just don't seem to be the same but maybe others see it differently.
