Unless just reckless, the only thing I can think of to justify their recent behavior is if they have an invested partner lined up that via the partnership is going to take on aiWare, energy and whatever else, and Veritone has ecosystem. And if reputable backing gets behind aiWare, then Veritone's ecosystem and HR tech business looks a whole lot better. But that is all assuming they have a plan. If just shooting from the hip, then I don't see this ending well for current investors; heavy dilution. At this stage of the game, the fact that no reputable investors have surfaced is embarrassing. Veritone simply spread too thin for aiWare to ever be anything significant. But not looking good when I see CS at a private equity seminar. tells me nothing lined up yet, and maybe energy fell through. But if so, then they are out of their minds to go through with this acquisition unless they have no concern for current shareholders. jmo
