With the food sector, it seems like the best long term investments have been in larger companies like these. I have these in my model portfolio as long term buy/hold -

Coca Cola (KO)
Coca Cola Consolidated (COKE)
Diageo (DEO)
Flowers Foods (FLO)
Hershey (HSY)
Kroger (KR)
Mondelez Intl (MDLZ)
Nestle (NSRGY)
Pepsico (PEP)
.

In the Food Innovation area, I still think Else Nutrition ( BABYF) is in a promising niche area, and wouldn't be surprised to see them eventually bought out by a bigger company. With these small Israeli start ups, they often will identify a promising area, establish a foothold, and then are snapped up by larger players.

Looking at the plant-based meat sector, this will undoubtedly have a big future longer term, but the challenge would finding the 'right' stock investment. Mushroom protein seems like a great idea. One player is Meati Foods, but still privately held -
