I'm not aware of hedge or private equity funds that specialize nowadays in BK situations. There were some a few years ago, but not lately, afaik. The smart money in the area makes high interest secured loans fully backed by hard assets. They don't fiddle with crappy penny shares.
BTW, I'm a retired lawyer and my son is a CPA for a Big Four, I love watching horrendous investing.
