Oh yes, that's right. I'd forgotten. But his post seemed to me to stand on its own, even if it had been a reply to a deleted post.

As a mod I frequently delete replies to deleted posts. The rule is the reply has to be able to stand alone without regard to the post it is in reply to.

And for what it's worth I have some of my replies deleted because when I replied that post wasn't deleted.
