“PFE has not seen any non-public data from the phase-3 trial of Adcetris vs Opdivo in first-line HL—the trial where SGEN is presenting some PFS data at the upcoming ASCO (https://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT03907488 ).”
That’s an NCI sponsored trial and potential trouble for adcetris. Pembrolizumab beat out adcetris on PFS in R/r HL so PD-1 may be a more active single agent in HL than BV. It also has less neutropenia and PN. The pneumonitis w PD-1s is presumably why it is being studied without bleomycin (although A-ABVD had poor tolerability so SGEN ran their trials without bleo as well so makes this more apples to apples and avoids the pulmonary tox) It will probably take several years for OS data to mature though but not f it gets into nccn guidelines as an alternative option based on PFS it could eat into some market share for adcetris. It’s clear the 2 most active drugs in HL are pd-1 and adcetris (bv) so pfe could consider a front line trial combining the 2 w or w/o some chemo. I think it’s already been done in some subgroups already (eg those who cannot tolerate chemo) but I haven’t checked clinical trials.gov for a while
