Interesting topics here. When I moved to Los Angeles in the mid 70s, I lived in an old apartment bldg in Hollywood, behind Graumanns Chinese Theater. In its day it was quite grand. My 4th floor studio apartment had french windows that overlooked the west hills. There was an elderly couple, late 50s early 60s age range, that lived in front of my apt. They looked like anybody's aunt and uncle types or grandparents. They wrote the storylines for adult magazines. We could hear their manual typewriter tic tic ticking as they wrote their next story. I live in the Midwest now because it's affordable in retirement. The people here are real basic and not that Interesting. I liked the characters you meet in larger cities but it's so expensive to live in major metro areas now and the west coast is overrun with homeless and the corresponding issues.
