Always understood,,,,,Dems would Not go along with it under Bush.....In other words, Bush never would have gotten 60 votes.......Thats where Mr Clinton comes into to play....He Pushed It....And the vote showed huge bipartisan support against it if one takes a look.....(back to soft money? another dem/clinton first)
Misdirection in the name......Like Right to Work is now.....free trade didn't mean goods in this case....It meant Industry and workers and all that goes with having plants and in communities and Industry in a country.....Not to mention the Benefits those jobs Provided, healthcare, pensions, tax bases (which effects a wide range of things).....It was the first of its kind.....
Dems want to diminish the effect and don't get why people keep coming back to it....Great pay day for the corps and repubs had to laugh their asses off getting the dems, Clinton, to do their dirty work for them, in essence joining with them and the corporations..... Dems never would have passed it without a dem pushing it.....
From there it was and still is on......The USA sold off its Industry to the lowest bidder worldwide then went on to flood the country with cheap, uneducated and unprotected labor....... Friedman's Shareholder Theory was in full swing and continues to this day.....
Dems switched and did a one 180 in almost every sense, they have only taken the corps side since,,,,
Now it all more like pro wrestling, a 'good' guy vs a 'bad' guy with the outcome a given......
Dems are just starting to get it, (certainly not the taking responsibly part) But what little effort they make isn't a tid bit in the scheme of things and is full of lawyer speak.......Corporate corruption took over the dems too...........And dems are just starting to understand the parties are no different when it comes to that, Both Sides, and a level above of where the care to go in their thinking....And that is peoples real and only complaint, DC corporate corruption, not the people or the wedge issues politicians and media make hay of,,,,,,That what's lost in the whole wrestling match.....People know why the US continues downward without any attempt to put in check the real cause.....
The show must go on.......Insert Pro Wrestling or ELP pop culture....
