I feel your pain. However, in this environment, even typical pr's will not do much for a stock price. Only big moves happening are either short squeezes to the upside or great shorts to downside like SI or SBNY (both banks that pretty much went to zero). Almost everything else may go up one day and back down the next.
As to ILUS closing deals---this may take a bit longer than expected. They may be close to finalizing, but last minute negotiations as to price may take time. The target company sales may be softening due to the economy, and as such ILUS may want to lower the price somewhat. Bank lending is getting tighter and more expensive, thus increasing cost of deal, so terms may need to be re-negotiated.
Unless J.P is the consummate con-man (which I doubt), he strikes me as very level headed with a good grasp of where he wants to get to. Speed limit may not be entirely in his control.
