Well... they are certainly in a position of power. They are big business, and are calling a lot of the shots. They are very well known, and probably have about 1/3 the business on IHub..... and I can see why. Lots of money for advertising, and lots of money to put into their platform. Furthermore, the big fish (imo, anyone with a port over 1M or that trades over 500 trades per year) are able to get a very nice nice discount while still keeping the Ameritrade name and platform. From what I have heard $5 a trade is possible, even though $8 is the cheapest I have ever paid them.... BIG difference there.
