SGOV - my growing cash position at Ameritrade, which they were paying me a meager 0.35% annualized on, led me to search for a short term treasury bond ETF last week. I found it with a google search and promptly began shifting cash into it ..... now almost all my idle cash is in SGOV. It's got great liquidity with a very tight 0.01 bid/ask spread so I'll be moving cash in and out of it as needed.
SSK - SGOV +.03 to 100.28, short term treasury bonds are now yielding over 5% .... why are you still sitting on nearly 70% idle cash ????
Almost all my cash is now in SGOV and I sweep it in and out as needed. This ETF holds very short term treasury bills with a maximum of 3 months to maturity, so they're constantly being rolled over.
SGOV is highly liquid with a very tight 0.01 bid/ask spread.
A 5% risk free yield sure beats the paltry 0.35% interest that Ameritrade was paying on my cash position !
I prefer SGOV to buying treasury bonds directly, but that's another option -
SSK - why have you still not invested your idle 55% cash in SGOV or a similar ultra short term treasury bills ETF ?
I have all my cash in SGOV, sweeping it in and out regularly as needed. 4% annualized interest is much better than 0.35% annualized which Ameritrade is currently paying.
