Not surprising numbers at all,,,while I agree with higher taxes I would go further to taxing their equity every year in a smaller but meaningful way (which is one way they get out of any taxes at all...) Plus the tax code itself...
Taxes are not the silver bullet to solving the inequity crisis we face.....
Earning more in the spirit of H Ford is what we need to return too.....Even a clean bill on a compromise of 12hr minimum wage would be a start....Let's see the new crazies vote against that....Lets see the dems even propose it....
Maybe,,,,,, really going strong, breaking up multinationals who own multiple companies along with billionaires too, mergers that eat up competition and eat up good companies that are ripe for the raping via out sourcing......Ending stock buy backs and stock based compensation and bonuses for ceos and the like....In the spirit of taking on the corps in the past...Quit letting fear deter.....
Speakkng of fear, I fear the Corps are like cartels (for lack) now, they spread so much money around they can do as they please and no one does much more than lip service and tokens that just don't amount to much at all...
And we know how politicians treat tax money, I'd rather see it in the pockets of the people to be able to buy homes, save and the like......Think Nick I guess,,,,,,,Some sort of, if you're based here, and want to sell here you make here....Attacking the modern slave labor trend that continues today....Reversing one of the policies that hurt us, that would be a Nice too, we also exposed a big weakness of ours during covid being dependent......
Solutions are where our Ivy leaguers are supposed to come in....
,,,,,,,,,And while we're at it not just teach 'shareholder theory' but stakeholder,,,which is all of us....Its been done before when the business world gets greedy, we just need modern solutions for our times and regain that sense of equity by reigning them in...
And maybe quit saying what we can't do to govern corps We still let capitalism be the driver, we are only out of whack because we let them run amuck.....
