Sometimes I just wonder how a six-year-old child can get his hands on a gun in the first place. The parent was quite careless with this weapon, and either the child knew where the gun was stored, or the gun was just left out in the open.
Then the child took the weapon to school, it was not misplaced, or accidently placed in his school bag. Now the child arrives at school. No metal detectors were present, but then it is a grade school.
I also know from my many weapons, that it probably had a safety on the weapon, so did the child just take the safety off. It appears the child knew how to use the weapon. I know when I was a child I shot a rifle a few times, and when I did, I knew that it was not a toy. It was a weapon, and I discharged a bullet.
Many questions need to be answered about this incident. How about all of those other children in that classroom, I wonder how it affected all of them and their parents. Especially considering all of the shootings that take place at schools.
