Teachers, nurses, police have always had tough jobs. And as large groups in the public service have always had salary complaints. And complaints about conditions go with the territory. Of course covid has made things much tougher for all in the public health sector. Forever, or say for 50 odd (no not odd, but usual) years many have described difficult situations as crises. There have been greater crisis's before and will be in future. Your alarmist position is one that leans conservative.

In about 1970 in Australia they advertised for untrained university degree holders to train as teachers. Any person with a uni degree in anything could have gained access to the teaching profession. There was about a six week course involved. Today in Australia there is a shortage of teachers again.

It wouldn't be much different in places in the USA.

And there are many teachers who would highly recommend the job to any interested. In spite of what you say.
