74 million people voted for Trump = what does that say about their thought process?

Dems ARE less susceptible to conspiracy theories & more open to compromise, anyway.

So dems are the smart ones right, (well, educated anyways) What's the plan for unifying the US

You always seem to imply that the GOP has the appeal it has because of the Dems, what they do, what they don't do. You don't seem to require that the GOP DO anything. I don't think that they are capable of more than they've shown, they ARE the voice of the angry, the grievance nurturers, the resentful and the ill-informed.

What IF there is nothing more the Dems can do in the face of unrelenting, unreasoning, hostility from people who ARE susceptible to conspiracy theories and junk science and who have so little understanding of democracy that they believe elections that they lose are rigged, that compromise is passé and that what happened on 1/6 was a legitimate political response?

That more Republicans than not think that Trump was right to do what he did tells me there's no communicating with them, other than through the judicial system or, failing that, through armed force.

I'll settle for the FBI infiltrating as many of the RW assholes, who believe kidnapping and armed insurrection are legitimate responses, as they can.

"What's the plan for unifying the US"

That's funny, right there. But if you're serious, I have some thoughts.

We'll start by conceding that hard right MAGAts and only hard right MAGAts have a right to set policy on anything, ever.

Everyone will swear that the election of 2020 was stolen from Donald Trump.

We'll all concede that January 6, 2021 was a spontaneous and perfectly understandable outpouring of grief and rage at the Democrats for stealing said election. We'll have to issue a blanket pardon for anyone involved in that kerfuffle. Also it was largely peaceful... unlike when the negros rioted and burned all our cities to the ground.

We'll further acknowledge that the founders intended that everyone in America should carry a fully automatic long gun anywhere they feel like doing so, as long as they're white.

Obviously, we'll have to turn all public lands over to the nearest oil company or mining concern... possibly a rancher (as long as his pigmentation is acceptable... not dark, if you know what I mean). This should take place immediately, if not sooner.

Black people will be gerrymandered into as few districts as possible. In traditionally blue states, gerrymandering will be administered by a committee appointed by the state's Republican party.

All Democrats will acknowledge that America is a white Christian nation, and that the founders intended it to stay that way. The 13th, 14th and 15th amendments to the Constitution will be allowed to stand, but should at all times be considered lesser amendments, which the federal courts shall be instructed to disregard at will.

Gay will be outlawed, except for Republicans.

Donald Trump will be acknowledged President for life, after which one of his children will be named... errr elected, as his successor.

Donald Trump, Ronald Reagan and Jesus Christ (the accepted white version), in that order, will be added to Mount Rushmore. To avoid clutter Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt will be removed.

All Confederate statues and monuments will be restored, and military bases not currently named for members of the Confederate Army or Navy will be renamed forthwith. The Constitution shall be amended to state that only Confederate Generals can have military installations named after them.

History books must be approved by the Sons of the Confederacy, and under no circumstances can slavery or Jim Crow be mentioned, as 99.73% of all white families never owned a slave, discrimination never existed, and black people volunteered for the positions anyway. Talking about it is just unnecessary, and might make white children feel bad and less superior.

Anything I haven't mentioned will be decided by a nonpartisan committee made up of Republicans, more Republicans and MAGAts. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz will jointly chair the committee, and Steve Bannon will be appointed technical advisor and honorary "Chairman Emeritus".

Would that unify us enough?
