A corporation ledgering record profits is a mile from their bottom line.
And that's the point, corporations today operate with a elevated 'bottom line' that is well into the profit levels, so when it drops to 'their' bottom line, they're still in profits.
They don't want even a 3 percent hit to their profit margin. Profit ... margin... not operating costs.
This type of operating model ONLY benefits the top and investors, not the users or even the general market as oil is mainly in commodities and the major traders are the oil companies themselves. It's quite likely a majority of oil profits are made overseas imports.
It's a closed club. Always has been.
