Henry Ford had the right idea when he gave his employees a wage of 5 dollars per day.... he reasoned that if his workers had more wages, then they could afford to buy the cars the company was making... it worked, and the volume of cars sold skyrocketed, and then other industries benefited by the added consumption by higher wages....Lodas

you are correct that Arther Laffers "supply side economics" never worked... it was a field of dreams scenario where "if you build the industries by giving a tax break, the consumers will spend....problem was when they gave tax breaks to businesses, they kept the money and the wealth of the rich exploded...consumers SPEND MONEY, and the already rich, SAVE MONEY....people can't consume if they don't have spendable money...actually, the rich merchants benefit from welfare...when Pedro gets a welfare check, he spends it into the economy for sustenance.... who gets the welfare money?... the rich merchants... It is incorrect that rich people's money gets hidden away.

It goes into investments which spur economic growth.

I'm not trying to defend the rich... it just isn't accurate what you said.

If no one saves there is no money to loan....

(I understand all the issues with the current monetary system... that is not under the control of the rich specifically and a more complex topic)
