If the appeal is dismissed outright and he gives up, then I was completely wrong.
If the appeal is dismissed but they petition for a writ, then I wasn't wrong. Sometimes the court let's people convert the appeal into a petition, other times they make you file separately.
If the appeal continues or the judgment is vacated, I think I'm owed some respect. But we will see, I don't know what will happen. I've just read way too much trying to understand it all.
