Ex-grifter in chief is digging his own grave. What an absurd moron he is. If he really caught covid, maybe he can use that as an excuse for dementia. He didn't get two minutes into speech.

Stating the obvious Trump Republicans lost, Democrats won. Trump extremists lost, moderates won.

Far-right candidates struggled in midterm election. Who's to blame? Experts say Trump, GOP
Observers pointed the finger not just at former President Donald Trump but at the far-right candidates who aligned themselves with him.

That is true for about all but flaming red places allowing rabids as Gaetz:

In addition, he won despite the fact he campaigned while low on cash. In the final 19 days before the campaign, he raised only $129,524.10 and spent only $127915.18.
P - But Florida’s 1st District, which is located in the panhandle of Florida and borders Alabama, is overwhelmingly Republican. The state’s redistricting process gave Republicans a 38-point advantage.

And Jordan to buck the trend. Guessing Boebert would have lost if she were not an incumbent. this year. She got in through a dark and dirty basement window in 2020. Surely even she, assuming she survives ..

* Some of the biggest underperformances in the House also came thanks to Trump-backed election deniers. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) leads narrowly in a district Trump carried by more than eight points in 2020. John Gibbs lost by 13 points in a Michigan district Trump lost by eight. Joe Kent lost by two points in a Washington district Trump carried by four. And perhaps the biggest loser, Ohio’s J.R. Majewski, trailed by 14 in a district Trump carried by three — a gap of 17 points. (These numbers may change slightly.)

has enough smarts to pull her head in a bit after the midterm results.

Most certainly no major bills will be passed. Republicans will spend their time throwing wedge issues at Democrats and building mistrust of the system. Since Jordan is one of the most rabid of Trump people obviously he will waste everybody's time and money running Benghazi-type shows. Then hopefully he will do all a favor as Gowdy did ..

Anyway, as seen early this article is slightly dated, still...

Judiciary Republicans hint at investigation into FBI, DOJ if they retake the House

In a glimpse of what's to come, House Judiciary Committee Republicans warned the FBI and Department of Justice that they plan to investigate both agencies if their party retakes the House of Representatives. And on Friday they released a 1,000-page report about whistleblower accounts of "a rampant culture of unaccountability, manipulation, and abuse at the highest level."

Republicans will more than likely retake the House, and possibly the Senate, with the party heavily favored to win .. https://www.npr.org/2022/11/04/1134102147/house-districts-to-watch-control-of-congress-midterm-election .. midterm elections in several congressional districts.

The report .. https://republicans-judiciary.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HJC_STAFF_FBI_REPORT.pdf , titled FBI Whistleblowers: What Their Disclosures Indicate About the Politicization of the FBI And Justice Department, alleges political corruption at the highest levels of the FBI, according to a House Judiciary Republicans press release. Republicans assert in the report that whistleblowers have brought to their attention, "allegations of political bias by the FBI's senior leadership and misuses of the agency's federal law-enforcement powers." The report, while primarily focused on the FBI, also targets the Justice Department as well.

In response to a request for comment on the letter and the report, the FBI told NPR that it has testified to Congress and responded to letters from legislators on numerous occasions to ensure there is an accurate account of their work. It went on to say that its members are dedicated to protecting Americans against terrorism, violent crime and other dangers, all without a political agenda.

"Put quite simply: we follow the facts without regard for politics," the FBI said in a written statement. "While outside opinions and criticism often come with the job, we will continue to follow the facts wherever they lead, do things by the book, and speak through our work."

The DOJ told NPR it declined to comment on the matter.

Both letters and the report come mere days before the close of the 2022 midterm elections, touching on a handful of Republican hot button issues, including but not limited to: domestic violent extremism; allegations against President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden; and the FBI raid on former-President Trump's home where agents seized classified documents, which have become the subject of an ongoing legal battle .. https://www.npr.org/2022/10/04/1126830521/former-president-trump-escalates-the-legal-battle-over-classified-documents-agai .

Jordan and the committee Republicans accuse the FBI of, "artificially inflating and manipulating domestic violent extremism statistics for political purposes," in their report, claiming that the bureau is, "fueling the Biden Administration's narrative that domestic violent extremism is the biggest threat to our nation."

The FBI and Department of Homeland Security released a Strategic Intelligence Assessment and Data on Domestic Terrorism report .. https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/2022-10/22_1025_strategic-intelligence-assessment-data-domestic-terrorism.pdf .. in October, which asserts that domestic violent extremists represent one of the most persistent threats to the country. The report listed more than 30 incidents from 2020 and 2021 it categorized as significant cases of domestic terrorism incidents.

"These individuals are often radicalized online and look to conduct attacks with easily accessible weapons," the report reads. "Many of these violent extremists are motivated and inspired by a mix of ideological, socio-political and personal grievances against their targets."

According to the report, anti-government or anti-authority and racially or ethnically motivated violent extremism accounted for 77% of the FBI's domestic terrorism investigations in 2020 and 57% in 2021. And, a significant portion of the investigations from 2021 were directly related to the January 2021 siege at the Capitol, the report noted.

In his letters to both agencies, Jordan set a deadline of Nov. 16, to turnover the documents requested by the House Judiciary Republicans.

On gerrymandering, don't know how biased this is or if it is a fair picture of the
deal. Noted only that Florida, Alabama and Wisconsin are not on the list.

MAP

Most Gerrymandered States 2022

Gerrymandering is defined as setting boundaries in electoral districts in order to give a political party an advantage. Redistricting is something that occurs in all states about every decade. While this is seen as a political exercise, in some instances, state legislators and governors control the redistricting and can give their political party an advantage over their opponents.

Gerrymandering first occurred when minorities were given the right to vote. Legislative bodies used gerrymandering to ensure that the political power of these voters was diminished. Today, gerrymandering may occur for various reasons, although there have been proposals for ways to prevent this from occurring. These proposals include hiring commissions for redistricting or putting alternative voting systems into place.

In some states, this practice is more common than in others. The most gerrymandered states in the U.S. include:

* North Carolina: Has used Districts 1 and 12 for minority voters.
* Maryland: Uses broken districts to give an advantage to Democrats.
* Pennsylvania: Divides its major urban areas among other districts.
* Kentucky: Places urban populations in rural districts.
* Louisiana: Combined Baton Rouge and New Orleans into one district to minimize Democratic votes.
* Utah: Divides Salt Lake City into surrounding rural districts.
* Texas: Has tried to propose districts that would unfairly affect minority voters.
* Arkansas: Has drawn district boundaries to balance out city voters with rural voters.
* Ohio: Unfairly distributed districts in a partisan way.
