When HR departments became more attuned to the workplace, largely because of sexual harassment, cries of political correctness echoed thru the hallways and around the water coolers. 'Ya can't say nothing anymore' was the most frequent refrain. Classic straw man argument.

The morons who cried the most generally would be found sitting outside the HR office, sooner or later.

I told one such miscreant that not being a flaming asshole is not 'political correctness', it's simply behaving like a f'ing human being and about respecting others, you know, the way you want to be respected.

Thanks you Sir and that was a good read. You are handy with that Librarian trick.
I can see more clearly how a qualified or specific group political correctness
Is useful to get to the root meaning in debate
And in this Tightie Whitie case, how debate is stifled and avoided.
So, there really is a "conservative political correctness"
Like there might be a Misogynist PC, Bird Watcher's PC, Sunday Afternoon Sports TV PC, etc,..
U know, unless one puts those stickers and hanging things in front of their windows
To help prevent birds from their Psychotic Iranian Suicide Drone Syndrome (PISDS)
There will be no fellowship in the love of the natural world.
I like also what you did there with Baker's Bowie comment
Researching it further which inspired me to do some research
And, was rewarded [my confirmation bias ;] and quite charmed by my first keyword search with two songs..

Comments section lolz.. :

..Librarian" by My Morning Jacket has a lovely melody. It feeds into the sexy librarian stereotype. That an be annoying, but I've made peace with the fact that this is how people view me and my colleagues.

..It's a touching love song written from the perspective of a circulation clerk trying to fit into another lifestyle.
