#429353 RE: DesertDrifter #429349

Sure does. I saw a tv interview of an elderly woman from Eugowra earlier today. She said, i was standing in my house looking out the window when i saw a wave coming. The interviewer asked a couple of times about the wave, saying normally with floods the water rises fairly slowly. She said, my house was on foundations about three feet off the ground and when the wave hit it tore the veranda from the house and moved the house about 32.8 feet. She spoke in metres, of course. ;-) How high did the water get in your house the guy asked. She said it was up the windows and that she had stood on a table. He asked how did it feel when the house was moving? It all happened so fast, i was thinking this is it, she said. She was afraid the house might move again but it was up against a shed in back of her place. She said she was in the house about three hours after it moved when she saw two men trudging through the water. Said she had never been so happy to see anyone before. When asked how she felt now she said she knew one of her neighbors was safe, but was worried about another one who was missing. She was a good woman. The interview prompted the post.
