Yes, I haven't read him, but he was at the Texas Book (heavily censored book list, no doubt) Festival, because the new one recently came out.

Currently reading Corn's book, American Psychosis. Everything old is new again - Ike wouldn't repudiate McCarthy, who he despised, because the base was needed to vote in Republicans and he couldn't take a chance on alienated them. McCarthy was even calling MacArthur a commie. Sounds familiar, no?

Republicans have been trafficking in lies and scare tactics in the cause of election victories for 75 years since then.

"Spot on.
Giridharadas is really interesting guy. I read "Winners Take All"
recently and I think he has something new out.
"

Grab a beer, whiskey or water. Maybe a sandwich or three. A piece of fruit would be handy too. Most of all -- Enjoy.
