On clicking on NYT today there was a new offer for a year at 50 cents for a week, so i thought, Monday i'll call the number
you gave. Then decided to take a plunge so went into my account and hit cancel. newmedman, maybe note.
That gave me a choice to have a live chat. I have the transcript, is all good just don't feel it would be cool to post it here.
A person on to ask why cancel?? i said well for a time i've been thinking of it. i've felt i'd been paying at too high a rate. Told the person i'd chatted with an American friend who said no to the $A17 i was paying (about $AU25) and who ended up with much lower rate. And told the person about the new promotion rate i'd just seen.
The person said ok would you continue to subscribe at the new promotional offer for a year. Then after, unless i say something, would be at $A8 per month.
Yes, i said. And, and the person put me on the new promotional subscription rate.
Aside: i say person because after thanking them i said - nothing personal, just out of interest, are you a real person or a bot. They said, no problem, a real person.
So thanks blackhawks. It's done. They also said something about a credit to my account so we'll see what happens there. Am happy just with the new promotional rate, of course.
Was easier than telephoning. And cheaper. Should now go from about $25 a month to about $6. That's BIG.
Repeat, newmedman, maybe note.
Wow after two days of unusually high T it's heavy straight slanted almost hail just started.
