Help build could range from financing which most definitely would be helping to build. Providing architectural services would be helping to build. Supplying construction labor would be helping to build etc.
As previously stated, “help build” is too broad to apply a specific definition here. Knowing the specifics of the agreement would provide clarification. In the meantime sounds like it is a guessing game.
