Immigration worldwide is a thorny issue. The USA, Mexico and particularly Australia have it super-easy compared to countries in Europe, and others as Bangladesh. That's ignoring the fact we take it on ourselves to try to poach the very best of the human resources from less wealthy countries as a matter of course.
Bottom line in the situation we are talking about at the moment is as the two put it so well:

Politically, ethically, morally, et al. That is the crux of what we are talking about here. That DeSantis, Abbott, Trump, and all others who see their moves as "brilliant" ideas, are jerks.
