I haven't seen anywhere that Russia is going to team up with OPEC to cut production. Link, please.
It's more likely that Russia, which is in cahoots with Iran in the Middle East, would be shunned by the OPEC nations. For the most part, they regard Iran as an enemy.
Tango__32, Putin has much cold winter leverage, no doubt about that. And i've heard the resolve of the German people is a bit shaky already, as you suggested might happen. You'd expect it to, eh, with the extra hard times Putin is helping to force on them. Germany in 2021 imported 56.2% of their natural gas from Russia. Inflation and cold is a potent lever.
As an aside, not that this has to be said, but let's remember not to take at face value anything coming from the Russian camp. As it has been for a long time there is a parallel to the Trump camp there. This from one of the links in my earlier reply to you back some:
The Kremlin has said that "technological problems" caused by Western sanctions are preventing Russia from supplying gas via the Nord Stream pipeline. It says a leak has been detected in a turbine.
But a spokesperson for the EU told the BBC the sanctions regime does not affect the technology needed for the transport of gas into Europe.
Siemens Energy, which produces the gas turbines, said these type of leaks "do not normally affect the operation of a turbine".
"This doesn't seem like a legitimate reason to close a pipeline", says Ben McWilliams, an energy policy expert at Bruegel. "I'm as confident as I can be that this is Putin's latest move to manipulate gas prices and put pressure on Europe's energy systems."
Gazprom has also said missing documents have prevented certain gas turbines being maintained - but Siemens Energy has rejected the suggestion it failed to provide the relevant paperwork. https://www.bbc.com/news/58888451
at least in a small way, so far. Trump's dickhead move of pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal and sanctions arising from that, of course, are still working to keep the price of oil higher than it would likely otherwise be.
Tango__32, Be a bit more careful with links, please. That Yahoo link being a general one wasn't much help. Also as suggested in a pm to you don't worry about trying to embed them. In general, none of us do.
Copy the link. Click Url. Paste. Don't move your cursor. Like here. This is the heading of a 2018 article i got when i tried to get a link for yours. With it's direct llnk.
Ok i still have the link copied so to embed it JUST CLICK Url insert-text-here .. AND PASTE. LOL, that's what you get. The link is embedded. Copy the link. Click Url. Paste.
Then whatever words you want to embed too you stick them where it says "insert text here". So now i'll put the whole above heading in there
Many of us had trouble at first too. There is a practice board on iHub. Sorry with all the edits i don't have time to sneak the link for it in here now. Cheers.
