I don't do chat really at all, but once in a great while I will ask in the appropriate chat where a quest item may be hiding or about some boss area and in an instant someone will type - googles your friend. Usually followed by some derogatory comment about how lame I am having to ask. They set the tone within seconds. I never really paid much attention to the chat, but I've noticed a stark difference now since hewhoshitsinpants got into office and ongoing today. The chat is almost completely negative comments. Not like I remember just before shitpants.

The difference in my situation is, I'm entirely in game login, I have no extra chat bullshit or headset stuff, I don't run 5 different chat programs while in game, many many people do this routinely. They will run discord, rededit, skype, streaming programs, you name it, they're running all that on top of the game.
I was just checking out a call of duty streamer, where these people run live uboob of them playing a game. You can not believe this guys screen. 4 different chat programs, 2 different streamers, I don't know how many in game 3rd party mods he was running, 2 different video recording progs, skype AND another video chat program all while playing split screen because he was running him main toon in one screen and multi alts (toons you own extra to your main toon, sometimes multi account) in the second screen. There wasn't an open inch of screen and YET he stuffed his ugly face into 1/4 of the whole screen and talked non stop while zooming even closer to his face every 20 seconds. Two constant scrolling lines begging people to buy him coffee or give a donation to 'patreon'. These streamers will almost always broadcast their entire screen on uboob, so it's their complete desktop showing, replete with the entire taskbar space crammed full of icons. Patreon is a scam based on paypal formula where patreon pushed it's way into uboob by providing some sort of payment service, for a hefty fee of course. They say they advertise for you and such but they don't really. It's a middleman that was never needed.
I have no desire to watch or give those kind of streamers the time of day.
