Considering the Census is conducted on a regularly scheduled basis, one can hardly classify this information as "pre-election (anything-to-help-Al-Gore-get-elected)figures." The census merely gathers figures and reports them. That it pisses you off the census came up when it did is probably more to the point.
Not necessarily. The Census makes these reports available year round, but this data would have been more precisely provided after the 2000 census. Additionally, the article had a nice little picture of Billy-boy with a caption that read: "President Bill Clinton attributes the decline in poverty to a course of fiscal discipline".
This, of course, was a lie since that year he (and Congress) spent money like it was growing on trees.

Its not another tangent. How dismissive you are when I merely expand the parameters because you are able to find a local fluff piece to support your position. Is it your argument that there are fewer poor people in the world?
