Just to wrap that bit up, not that anyone cares.
I didn't disparage Drifter, where he lives, his lifestyle or the people that live where he lives. In return, we were subject to his uniformed stereotypes about the people where I live, and how I must, therefore, be like them, because I live there, too. If I actually, you know, do live there. It was an ugly outburst, that, to me, is a characteristic of an angry person, regardless of how much better you know him.
To be clear, I'm anti-gun, I think, first off, that handguns should be banned except for law enforcement purposes. And rifles should be licensed carefully to people who need them for ranch maintenance or hunting, along those lines. The days of anyone walking into a Dick's or Walmart and casually buying a rifle should be over - rapid fire rifles, military style or no, should be outlawed, with their possession being a crime.
Lastly, if you believe that you could have adult children who have their own children, and that you could congenially contradict something the parents were trying to teach and, at the same time, maintain good relations with them, you are not living in the reality based community. In my opinion.
