Imo there's an imaginative leap-of-faith taking place by anyone thinking there's actual demand for those 5 million shares.
Why would anyone want THOSE shares but be so uninterested in the shares freely available every day? It's not like there's much of a bid below, and as you point out there appears to be endless supply above.
