There are 27 rookies on the PGA TOUR in 2021-22. This page provides a subjective ranking updated weekly. The Arnold Palmer Award winner is determined in a vote by PGA TOUR members who make at least 15 starts. The Ryder Cup, the Presidents Cup and the Olympic Games count as one of the 15.

Brandon Wu picked a mighty fine time to set a personal low of 68 rounds as a professional on the PGA TOUR. Not only did his closing, 8-under 63 at the Mexico Open at Vidanta position him for a share of second place – also a career-best – but it established the course record on Vidanta Vallarta’s Greg Norman Signature Course that opened in 2015.

The 25-year-old hit 16 greens in regulation and connected for an eagle and six birdies en route to the clean card on Sunday at Vidanta Vallarta. In fact, he played his last 37 holes of the tournament in bogey-free 14-under.

Wu went out in the seventh-to-last threesome in the final round and posted 16-under 268. In the very next group, Tony Finau matched Wu’s 63 and joined the rookie with a share of the clubhouse lead. Ultimately, they checked up one stroke back of champion Jon Rahm.

The third golfer at T2 was Kurt Kitayama. While he’s a first-time member of the PGA TOUR this season, he’s not a rookie because he made eight starts in 2019-20. He’s one of three first-time members this season who are not rookies. The others are Christiaan Bezuidenhout (10 starts in 2019-20), Lucas Herbert (11 starts in 2020-21) and Will Zalatoris (the 2020-21 Rookie of the Year).

Overall, rookies as a class enjoyed one of their best weeks of the season in Puerto Vallarta. Davis Riley (5th), David Lipsky (T6) and Alex Smalley (T6) contributed top 10s, while three others added top 25s. Only seven of the 22 in the field missed the cut.
