Absolutely agree--

So i'll adjust to saying i wouldn't be surprised if - even if only subconsciously - some rabid conservatives cherish the word "woke" because it originally represented a caring comfort zone for the black community. So to use it negatively now may give then a warm fuzzy arrogance of racial superiority.

I realize it's a shot in the dark, still it feels like it could be a fair comment on some thinking woke (awake)
racists. The individual would have to know what the word originally meant. Thanks for the check.

English is an amazing and ever-evolving language. Truly, it has become the language of the world.
It's very interesting to note the evolution of words over time, notwithstanding syntax. I did say "overnight meanings (of words) can change"-- I instantly thought of the dietary product "Ayds". It was a very successful product. I can remember our fridge always having a box or 2. Naturally, they tasted like crap to kids, so win for the folks, lol.
