John McCain was always on the news somewhere after Vietnam.. ABC, NBC, CBS etc.. I don't remember seeing him on MSNBC or not much nor CNN, although I'm sure they posted about him .. They promoted him as a war hero and I'm not saying he wasn't. But, I read a lot about him and what the Vets, some of the ones who were in the same camp as he was, have been saying about him ever since he came back from Vietnam based on rumors that went around in the camp when he was in Vietnam or stories from outraged Vets who pretty much despised him over things that he did that they say hurt efforts to retrieve the remains of vets and also financial policies and bills he wrote or sponsored, that hurt benefits aimed specifically for Vietnam vets. They don't like him much for some reason. My brother-in-law was an army officer in Vietnam he wasn't fond of him either.

As a matter of fact, I had 2 brother-in-laws and they were both Vietnam vets. Both were army. Neither of them were fond of McCain and they I knew the stories long before I ever read them on the internet because of both of them. One of them was from Arkansas and he knew the Bill Clinton story and that's why he didn't like Clinton because of the draft dodger thing.

They were both married to my older sister at different times. The first one died because of injuries and things he contracted in Vietnam and the other one died of cancer and right before he died, he received a check from the Gov't for things that doctors believe he died from that were directly related to his service in Vietnam also or his family did. I can't remember if he was still alive when they finally came through or his family got the money. My sister didn't need it or want it so she gave it to his kids even though they were all adults.

My sister said she was never marrying again.
