Yeah, I'm probably more bent up about it than I should be. I'm just worried for women's rights and children who won't get a proper education or a free hot lunch to eat.
I was one of those kids, even back in the 70's and I looked forward to my lunch. It was one of the things that made me hang around the school after hours and go to the local library when I was thirsty for knowledge. If my mom gave me an extra dollar, I could buy extra food at lunchtime and I always did on turkey and pizza days.
I learned how to save for those moments and it made me a more responsible person and a better student. Being poor doesn't have to suck as long as you have a good network of people to help you and trust me, I never gave a shit about who my teachers slept with or gave a thought to my reading outside of the wonderful stories that were told.
It never moved me in any way. I was a straight white guy from a very young age and when I finally got to high school, I knew more than a few gay guys that I hung around, studied, played video games and went out to party with. They are all still friends today and nothing has changed. If anything, I was more protective of them
because of the shit they took from assholes, they all remind me of that now and it's why we're still friends.
It was so much easier when we were all honest with each other. Same way went as I got older and was around more black and brown skinned people. I didn't care, as long as we treated each other with respect the day goes on without a hitch and I've attended some of the most awesome house parties and had some of the best food in my life with them.
People just need to calm the fuck down sometimes. This country is not some fucking hillbilly jamboree.
