Market Chatter: Twitter to Hold Town Hall Meeting With Staff to Discuss Musk's $43 Billion Takeover Bid

12:18 PM EDT, 04/14/2022 (MT Newswires) -- Twitter (TWTR) will hold a town hall meeting with its employees Thursday afternoon to discuss the unsolicited $43 billion takeover offer from Tesla (TSLA) Chief Executive Elon Musk, Reuters reported. The meeting will be held at 2 p.m. Pacific time.
Earlier Thursday, Musk proposed acquiring the micro blogging site for $54.20 a share and said he wanted to take the company private.
"The Twitter board of directors will carefully review the proposal to determine the course of action that it believes is in the best interest of the company and all Twitter stockholders," Twitter said in a statement.
Twitter shares were nearly 1% lower in midday trading on Thursday.
